Amway Achiever Julian and Mariza Avellaneda - Mexico

The Sky Is the Limit – Julian and Mariza Avellaneda didn’t know a thing about running a business when they were first introduced to the AMWAY™ opportunity. “Julian was in construction and I was a homemaker and a waitress,” says Mariza, adding that their upline was based in Mexico, which made taking on their new endeavor even more of a challenge. But they didn’t let those obstacles get in their way. “We learned to overcome our fears and to work as a team,” says Julian. “And I would advise anyone starting out to stay connected to your line of sponsorship and to always ask them for advice – Platinums, Sapphires, Emeralds, and Diamonds – they have the answers you need.”

The couple feels that loyalty is an important trait, too. “You need to be loyal not only to your team, but to Amway and the products. They all work together and that’s what makes up your business,” says Julian. Mariza recalls the days when Julian had to drive two hours each way to work. “He would be so tired when he got home. But now he loves what he does. He has so much energy and charisma, and he loves working with people.”Julian often uses himself as an example to inspire people. “I tell them how much more life can give them if they’re willing to give life a little more. Just look what’s happened to us. We are proof that you can succeed in this business no matter what the situation.”

Reaching Diamond is a great reward for us, but it is also an inspiration to our downline. This is a true team effort. – Julian Avellaneda. The couple just recently bought a new house, with a pool, and paid cash for it – which helps to show others that dreams really can come true. But the biggest reward, they say, is having their daughter, Ruby, follow in their footsteps. She reached Platinum level in 2011. “We have become an example for all our relatives on both sides of the family,” says Julian. He says it wasn’t always this way. It took awhile for people to really believe they would succeed. “But your team is always there with you working side by side. And of course, you have your dreams,” adds Mariza. “When people don’t believe in you, your dreams are what keep you going.”

And both believe the sky is the limit. “I think this next generation of IBOs are the ones who are really going to make our business explode,” says Mariza. “We’re just laying the groundwork; the results will be seen with our children.”
